Why Connect Dyad to AskCodi?

Dyad works with local models by default. Connect AskCodi for advanced reasoning and current knowledge. Use local models for privacy. Connect cloud models for complex app generation.

Prerequisites

• Dyad installed from https://www.dyad.sh/#download
• AskCodi account with API key
• Internet connection
• Know which models you want to use

Your API key connects to multiple AskCodi models via OpenAI-compatible endpoint.

Step 1: Install Dyad

1. Download Dyad from https://www.dyad.sh/#download
2. Run installer
3. Launch Dyad

Step 2: Open Settings

1. In Dyad, click Settings in sidebar
2. This opens settings panel

Step 3: Go to Model Providers

1. In settings, find "Model Providers" section
2. This manages AI service connections

Step 4: Add Custom Provider

1. Click "Add Custom Providers"
2. Enter details:
   • Provider ID: askcodi
   • Display Name: AskCodi
   • API Base URL: https://api.askcodi.com/v1
   • Environment variable: ASKCODI_API_KEY

Step 5: Confirm API URL

Enter the AskCodi URL:

https://api.askcodi.com/v1

Step 6: Add API Key

1. Find API key field for AskCodi provider
2. Enter your AskCodi API key
3. Keep key secure

Step 7: Add Custom Model

1. Go to Models section in settings
2. Click "Add a Model"
3. Select OpenAI-Compatible in Provider dropdown
4. Select AskCodi provider you configured
5. Enter model details:

Model ID: your-model-name
Name: your-model-name

Replace your-model-name with specific model (gpt-4o, claude-3-sonnet, etc.)

Step 8: Test Integration

1. Close settings
2. Create new project
3. Check AskCodi models appear in dropdown
4. Start app generation with AskCodi model

Switch models based on needs:

• Basic structure: Use architect-focused models
• Complex features: Use Claude 3 Opus, GPT-4 variants
• Specific frameworks: Use framework-optimized models
